"Christmas shopping without genetic engineering"
Last Saturday, the alliance organized a GMO-free Wendland leafleting in front of a large supermarket in Lüchow. Then the fifteen assets subject to the market place.

Farm animals such as cattle, pigs and chickens are fed for many years with concentrate that is imported in large quantities in the United States. A significant proportion of these feedstuffs containing genetically modified plants, especially GM soya and GM maize. But in animal foods such as meat, eggs and dairy products, vegetable products, in contrast to no labeling requirements, so know the consumers usually have no idea what they shop there.
"The health consequences are hardly studied. Findings of independent scientists, however, give rise to more concern. Experimental animals showed extensive damage to internal organs," said one of the activists.
The alliance calls for just the Christmas shopping to pay attention to non-GM foods. The safest would be the consumer if a product with an organic label would be in his basket.
"Many people have pre-Christmas rush, despite the positive response to our flyers," says Katja temple for the Alliance.
